The cash register was invented in 1879 by James Ritty, a saloon owner in Dayton, Ohio. He produced the Incorruptible Cashier by modeling its inner workings after a device that was used to count the spins of an ocean liner's propeller in the engine room.
Below are scanned/converted copies of 1900’s Original Cash Register Catalogues. These are very fascinating as they show how NCR promoted the features of each register. You should be able to find your register somewhere in this set of links with exception of the brass 1000 class drawer operated registers and the brass lever operated registers.
If it's hard to make out, the label indicates it's a "second hand register" thus the S206082P serial number. Sold to Canadian National Carbon Co. in Toronto Ontario. Model 310 with finish code "A". There is no sales date on the label, but the last patent date is March 2, 1920.

3 Sep 2012 Early 1900's antique National cash register, Model #422 ( in pictures). I have had it cleaned inside and out and fully restored – it looks like original
NCR Class 1900.
Manufactured before 1900, the cash register was rebuilt in 1905, possibly to make it suitable for use with Australian imperial currency, refitted with a new serial number and sold as new. This was common practice with business machines sold by the National Cash Register Company.
